BU Terriers 1978 Hockey National Champions Vintage Heavyweight Tee
In 1978, BU men’s ice hockey once again reached the summit of college hockey. Though the team won five consecutive ECAC tournaments in the ‘70s, the pinnacle of college hockey eluded them after their 1972 “triple crown,” in which the Terriers won the Beanpot, the ECAC tournament, and a national championship in the same year. Though the Terriers didn’t achieve the triple crown in ‘78, they still won in iconic fashion, defeating archrival Boston College for their third national title.
